Chesney Glen is a small community of seventy-eight homes located at the heart of the Triangle Area of North Carolina in the Town of Cary. Frequently rated as one of the best small towns in America, Cary combines small town charm with convenient access to Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Cary is also located adjacent to Research Triangle Park, one of the oldest and largest scientific parks in North America and home to a broad spectrum of companies ranging from Fortune 100 multi-national research and development operations to university-affiliated and start-up operations.

Happening Now!

Herdon Burt property public hearing before Town of Cary Planning and Zoning Board

The P&Z hearing was held on 4/15 at which time the Planning and Zoning Board voted 6-3 against the proposed development of the Herndon Burt property. The vote of the P&Z board is simply a recommendation intended to guide the Town Council decision and there is no obligation on the part of the Council to accept the P&Z recommendation. A final decision by the Town Council is not expected until perhaps late May so stay for additional updates.

A word about snakes...

...and most likely that word is "Yikes!" Approximately 37 different types of snakes are found in North Carolina. While the vast majority of these are nonvenomous, there are three venomous species that are commonly found in the Piedmont which includes the greater Raleigh area. Snakes are important to local ecology as they help keep rodent and insect populations in check and most are not agressive - even the venomous ones - so their presence should be tolerated if not welcomed. As a general rule, if you happen across a snake, given reasonable distance and time it will go on its way.
